How to Change the Color of Your Acrylic Nails
Materials You'll Need
- Acrylic nail polish remover
- Cotton balls
- Nail brush
- New acrylic nail polish
- Top coat
Steps
1. Remove the old nail polish.
Use a cotton ball soaked in acrylic nail polish remover to wipe off the old nail polish. Be sure to get all of the old polish off, as any remaining polish will prevent the new polish from adhering properly.
2. Buff the nails.
Use a nail brush to buff the nails lightly. This will help to remove any remaining old polish and create a smooth surface for the new polish to adhere to.
3. Apply the new nail polish.
Position the nail brush at the base of your nail and sweep the new color on in one stroke. Be sure to apply the polish evenly and in thin coats. Allow each coat to dry completely before applying the next.
4. Apply a top coat.
Once you have applied the desired number of coats of nail polish, apply a top coat to seal in the color and protect it from chipping and peeling. Allow the top coat to dry completely before handling your nails.
Tips
- For a more vibrant color, apply multiple coats of nail polish.
- To prevent the polish from chipping, be sure to apply a top coat.
- If you make a mistake, simply wipe off the polish with a cotton ball soaked in acrylic nail polish remover.
