Germany notched its highest-ever victory against Italy

In a stunning upset, Germany defeated Italy 5-2 in a UEFA Nations League match on Tuesday, marking the Germans' highest-ever victory against their illustrious opponents.

The match was contested at the Borussia-Park in Mönchengladbach, Germany, in front of a packed crowd of 51,640.

Germany took control of the game from the outset, dominating possession and creating numerous scoring chances. The home team took a 2-0 lead into halftime thanks to goals from Timo Werner and Marco Reus.

Italy fought back in the second half, pulling one goal back through Lorenzo Pellegrini, but Germany proved too strong and added three more goals from Kai Havertz, İlkay Gündoğan, and Julian Brandt.

The victory extends Germany's unbeaten run in the UEFA Nations League to four matches and places them top of their group with 10 points.
