Starship Troopers Extermination Reanimates A Classic Franchise
Can Acclaim Breathe Life Back Into Starship Troopers?
A Delicate N64 Operation
Acclaim Studios London must have noticed that MicroProse had neglected to properly exploit its license for last years giant bug-filled sci-fi. Trying to recreate Starship Troopers for a home console is good and fine in theory but it just doesnt work -- not on Nintendo 64 and especially not for the low, low price of $20. Starship Troopers kicks most of the games story elements aside and instead focuses on the bug-blasting action that made the movie so popular.
Extermination is a co-op FPS that puts you on the far-off front lines of an all-out battle against the Bugs. A squad of four troopers (or one lone wolf) must work together to defend outposts and accomplish a variety of objective-based missions. Youll use a variety of weapons including the standard-issue Morita assault rifle, the heavy-duty machine gun, and flamethrower. Power-ups litter the battlefield that will give you stronger weapons, more ammo, and even a jetpack.
