CHICAGO, Ill. - Argentina continued its impressive start to 2024 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ecuador in a pre-Copa America friendly on Sunday.
Angel Di Maria's second-half goal was the difference at Soldier Field, as the Albiceleste extended their unbeaten streak to seven matches. The victory also marked a fourth clean sheet for Argentina in 2024.
Argentina controlled much of the possession, but found it difficult to break down a resolute Ecuador defense. The breakthrough eventually came in the 65th minute, when Di Maria pounced on a loose ball and fired home from close range.
